Mop frames provide support for the shape of a mop head, spreading it to cover a wide area. They can attach to the mop heads with a hook-and-loop fastener, or the mops heads may include a sleeve that the frame fits into, or strings that tie onto the frame. Mop frames also provide a means for mop handle connection. Often either the frame or the handle includes a swivel joint for flexible maneuverability.
